Dr. Tamara Mengine

Dr. Mengine is pleased to be offering both cardiology consults and abdominal ultrasounds at West Chester Veterinary Medical Center. In addition to performing scans at both West Chester and Stoney Creek Veterinary Hospitals, Dr. Mengine serves as a specialist for the telemedicine service Sonopath, reading abdominal and cardiac ultrasounds for veterinarians throughout North America. Dr. Mengine has had a special interest in cardiology since her days as a vet student, and to support that interest, she has pursued mentorships with local cardiologists throughout her career. She is now in the midst of obtaining a post-graduate credential in Veterinary Cardiology from the University of Liverpool.

In more recent years Dr. Mengine expanded her skillset to include abdominal ultrasound, and between her own work and her telemedicine role, has now interpreted thousands of scans, and enjoys teaching ultrasound skills to other veterinarians as a certified instructor for Sonopath. Dr. Mengine has previously worked in both general and emergency practice in the Philadelphia area since completing a small animal rotating internship at Texas A&M in 2004. In 2014, after a rigorous credentialing and examination process, she became board-certified in canine and feline practice with the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners.
